  • Personal information (name, birthday, company)

  • Common substitutions (P@ssw0rd, 123456789)

  • Reusing passwords from other accounts

Password Security Best Practices

Password Manager Usage

Why Use a Password Manager:

  • Unique Passwords: Generate different passwords for every account

  • Strong Generation: Create complex passwords you don't need to remember

  • Secure Storage: Encrypted storage protects your credentials

  • Auto-Fill: Convenient and secure password entry

  • Cross-Device Sync: Access passwords across all your devices

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds an essential second layer of security to your account.

Why Enable 2FA:

  • Enhanced Security: Protects against password theft

  • Compliance: Meets business security requirements

  • Peace of Mind: Know your account is protected

  • Industry Standard: Best practice for business accounts

2FA Methods Available:

  • Authenticator Apps: Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator

  • Backup Codes: One-time use codes for emergency access

  • SMS (if available): Text message verification codes

Emergency Password Recovery

When Normal Reset Fails:

Account Verification Required:

  • Business email address verification

  • Account details (company name, team members)

  • Recent activity information

  • Payment method verification (for paid accounts)

Business and Team Considerations

Shared Account Management

Team Access Best Practices:

  • Create individual accounts for each team member using invitations

  • Use role-based permissions instead of shared passwords

  • Implement account invitation processes

  • Regular access reviews and cleanup

When Team Members Leave:

  • Immediately revoke access for departing employees

  • Change shared passwords if they were known

  • Review and update integrations and API tokens

  • Audit recent activity for the departing user

When to Contact Support

  • Password reset emails not arriving

  • Suspected account compromise

  • 2FA issues preventing access

  • Business verification for password recovery

  • Questions about security best practices

Security Reminder: Your password is the first line of defense for your RevvedUp account. Use a strong, unique password, enable two-factor authentication, and monitor your account regularly for any suspicious activity.
