Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

If you have 2FA enabled (see how to set it up in our Password Management guide), you'll need to provide an additional verification code.

Using Authenticator Apps

Step 1: Enter Password

  • Complete the standard email/password login first

  • You'll be redirected to the 2FA verification page

  • We recommended the use of Authy on creation of 2FA

Step 2: Generate Verification Code

  1. Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.)

  2. Find your RevvedUp entry

  3. Note the current 6-digit code (codes refresh every 30 seconds)

Step 3: Enter Verification Code

  1. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app

  2. Click "Verify" to complete login

  3. You'll be logged into your account upon successful verification

Using Backup Codes

When to Use Backup Codes:

  • Your authenticator app is unavailable

  • Your phone is lost or broken

  • You can't access your primary 2FA method

How to Use Backup Codes:

  1. On the 2FA verification page, click "Use backup code"

  2. Enter one of your saved backup codes

  3. Each backup code can only be used once

  4. You'll be logged in after successful verification

Important: Generate new backup codes after using several of them.

Session Management

Remember Me Functionality

Using Remember Me:

  • Check "Remember me" before signing in

  • Extends your session for 2 weeks

  • Useful for personal devices and trusted computers

  • Don't use on shared or public computers

Session Security:

  • Sessions automatically expire after inactivity

  • Sensitive actions may require re-authentication

  • All sessions are invalidated when you change your password

  • You can view and manage active sessions in your account settings

Troubleshooting Login Issues

Common Login Problems

"Invalid Email or Password":

  • Double-check email address: Ensure it matches your registration email exactly

  • Verify password: Check for typos, Caps Lock, or special characters

  • Try password reset: Use the "Forgot Password" link if uncertain

  • Check account status: Ensure your account hasn't been suspended

"Account Not Found":

  • Verify you're using the correct email address

  • Check if you might have multiple accounts

  • Ensure you completed the registration process

  • Contact support if you believe this is an error

"Too Many Failed Attempts":

  • Your account is temporarily locked for security

  • Wait 20 minutes before trying again

  • Use password reset if you're unsure of your password

  • Contact support if the issue persists

Two-Factor Authentication Issues

"Invalid Verification Code":

  • Check time sync: Ensure your device's time is correct

  • Try new code: Codes refresh every 30 seconds

  • Verify app: Ensure you're using the correct authenticator app

  • Use backup code: Try a backup code as an alternative

"Authenticator App Lost/Unavailable":

  • Use one of your backup codes to log in

  • Contact support to disable 2FA temporarily

  • Set up 2FA again once you regain access

  • Generate new backup codes after recovery

"Backup Codes Not Working":

  • Ensure you're entering the code exactly as saved

  • Check that you haven't used this code before

  • Each code can only be used once

  • Contact support if all backup codes fail

OAuth Login Problems

Google Login Fails:

  • Account already exists: If you created your account with email/password, you need to connect Google first. See our Connecting External Accounts guide for detailed instructions on connecting Google or LinkedIn to your existing account.

  • Clear browser cache: Remove stored Google authentication data

  • Check Google account: Ensure you're logged into the correct Google account

  • Try incognito mode: Bypass browser extensions and cached data

  • Verify OAuth permissions: Check if RevvedUp is authorized in your Google account

LinkedIn Login Issues:

  • Account already exists: Similar to Google, existing accounts need to connect LinkedIn first. Visit Settings → Connected Accounts after logging in with your email/password.

  • Update LinkedIn password: If recently changed, clear browser cache

  • Check LinkedIn account status: Ensure your LinkedIn account is active

  • Verify email match: LinkedIn email should match your RevvedUp account

  • Try standard login: Use email/password if OAuth continues failing

Browser and Technical Issues

Page Won't Load:

  • Check internet connection: Ensure stable connectivity

  • Try different browser: Test with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge

  • Disable extensions: Some browser extensions interfere with login

  • Clear browser data: Remove cookies and cached data for RevvedUp

Redirects Not Working:

  • Enable JavaScript: RevvedUp requires JavaScript for proper functionality

  • Check pop-up blockers: Disable pop-up blocking for RevvedUp

  • Update browser: Use a recent version of your web browser

  • Try direct URL: Navigate directly to app.revvedup.ai
